Since 2005, STARS Youth has been dedicated to supporting children and youth in high-priority neighborhoods, with a special focus on boys who lack positive male role models.
At Solid Rock Family Services, we understand the critical role that male figures play in the lives of their offspring. Many children and youth are raised in single-parent households where fathers are absent. Recognizing the impact men and fathers have on their children's development, Solid Rock is committed to creating an environment where young boys and girls are given the opportunity to be mentored. Through mentorship, they develop confidence, gain life skills, and receive guidance to navigate life’s challenges, building greater resilience and paving the way for future success.
Generational cycles of poverty and financial hardship are prevalent in racialized and marginalized communities. At Solid Rock, we recognize the importance of teaching children from a young age to empower them to become future leaders within their families and communities. By providing education and guidance, we help break the cycle of poverty and steer them toward lasting financial health and stability.
We offer financial literacy classes for youth, covering essential topics such as budgeting, the credit system, investments, and the importance of financial products.
March Break and Summer camps have been a cornerstone of STARS Youth programming. In fact, our early initiatives were primarily centered around camps, providing children and youth with experiences that broadened their horizons. Our camps feature a mix of athletic and academic programs designed to keep young minds and bodies engaged and active during school breaks.
Our camps are specifically tailored for youth between the ages of 9 and 18 years, offering age-appropriate activities that engage and inspire.
